This blog documents the development of a causal machine learning research project investigating the reliability of uplift modelling evaluation metrics. The project is being conducted as part of an MSc in Computer Science with Data Science at the University of Sunderland, and builds directly on a research proposal submitted in April 2026.
Each entry records the decisions made, challenges encountered, and analytical thinking developed as the project progresses. The blog serves as a transparent, time-stamped account of the research process, from project planning and risk management through to implementation and evaluation. Entries are posted weekly and referenced where appropriate to the academic literature underpinning the work.
